Dreambert and Bedsmith, two Pi’illo creatures, wake up one morning with no memory of who they are, where they are, or how they got there. They find themselves in a strange house in an unfamiliar city, feeling lost and confused. Just as panic sets in, a strange man named Wonky appears, claiming to be their father. He claims they must have passed out watching television the night before, but before he can explain further, the situation gets even stranger. A Star Sprite creature named Starlow arrives, insisting that she is their friend. She says they had plans to meet up, but Dreambert and Bedsmith have no memory of her or any such plans. They reluctantly follow Starlow out, unsure of their surroundings. They wander through the city, pretending to be unfamiliar with either the environment or Starlow. Despite their confusion, Starlow continues to interact with them as if they have been friends for a long time. As he shows them around, Starlow patiently explains their supposed friendship and their names, trying to calm them down. However, Dreambert and Bedsmith remain disoriented and unable to understand their past or their connection to Starlow. As the day goes on, Starlow becomes increasingly concerned, initially thinking they are just pretending to forget. But as their strange behavior persists, he begins to worry that there is something seriously wrong with their memories. By the end of the day, Starlow’s uncertainty deepens, and she wonders if there is something more behind their forgetfulness. Dreambert and Bedsmith are sent back to the house where they first woke up, and Wonky, who still claims to be their father, provides them with a bed that they are not comfortable in. Too tired and confused to protest, they settle in for the night. As they fall asleep, their minds are filled with questions about their identities, their pasts, and the cause of their sudden amnesia. The mystery of their lost memories remains unanswered as they fall into a restless sleep, unsure of what the future holds.
